Hello! anyone still reading in abandon blog here?
can't imagine this is only my second post in 2014! so inefficient! i blame dayre..(username kim.n)
coz i blog there more frequent till i got nothing to blog here..
okie today im gonna blog about my biggest entertainment in SG which is shopping!!
we spend our weekend in the mall shopping, find food, window shopping

so far my favorite shop to buy clothes in SG is Editor Market!
their pricing terms is crazy which make u buy more for better bargain!
i ended up buying 6 pieces of items that day.. some more their size fit me very well..if convert sure very expensive.. since im using hubby money so ok lar! one piece around 25 plus..hehe #badwifematerial

other than this shop the rest are online boutique like Younghungryfree brought a denim short from them! and fit me perfectly too!!
i like their stuff coz their model, Aud almost same size with me and their style is more to cool and edgy type..

Theory of Seven feminine and girly style, i've been waiting for the backorder items to be restock! but no news yet..really wish to get the items to wear for friend's wedding~

then is Aforacade that ping recommend me, basic stuff that can mix and match easily, i love their guy collection always convince hubby to get their clothes

other than shopping for clothing i also love to shop deco, stationary, art and craft stuff in SG! so many nice shop here!! Kikki.k is one of my favorite for stationary got to know them from cathy who brought this quote card for me last year from aussie love their design..then when i found out its available in SG im so happy.. i can spend hour in that tiny shop! so inspiring minimalist design but with great color scheme!
then is Spotlight! a handmade heaven! you're get to buy all sort of stuff their to diy everything!
nice imported fabric, thousand of ribbon to choose, party deco! i can foreseen ill do lotsa sourcing here here..

actually i shop the most and went so frequent is fairprice! hahah
i go every 2 days! other than buying ingredient to cook i love to buy fruits too!
fruits like strawberry, blueberry and grapes are cheaper there
apple, oranges, papaya around the same price so its better to buy those berries right?
haha suddenly become so aunty
but i enjoy cooking here, its healthier and easier no need to think what to eat
just cook whatever in the fridge, and no need to worry have to wash dishes coz hubby will handle the washing part and clean the kitchen..hehe i cook and he have to wash that our rules!
whatever i cook he will finish everything..ya he is so easily impressed that why i enjoy cooking for him

got my valentine present! hehe not really expensive purse but something i've been eyeing for sometimes..
thanks hubby

Other than shopping and cooking our next plan is to visit different Singapore tourist location once a month!
so many place we wanted to go..but 1st i need a job to stay..haih~~

New Year New Journey

Start my 2014 in Singapore!
like so suddenly...
meet some friends in the mall here in sg and they are so surprise that i moved here..
my clients are shock that i've no longer based in kl no worries ill settle all the job here
coz i never wrote it here in my blog i'm so addicted to dayre..i update almost everyday there so follow me in dayre (kim.n) for my daily update

fall sick end of December.. like really serious kinda sick
9 days fever..suspected dengue did 2 blood test total visit of 5 doctors (western & chinese)
Thanks God i'm recover!! really feel so thankful of being healthy again..
try to pick up cardio and jogging with hubby
i love that we can go jogging and exercise at night here in sg! lot of people do that so we join in
coz is safety and there's a jogging trail and exercise equipment just downstairs of our hdb..

so far we quite like the life here..
cooked a lot here so that we can have healthy home cooked tho actually eating out is actually cheaper
i went Fairprice (Grocery retailer) so frequent! and today i finally make it to wet market..very aunty i know..
even feel extremely happy of getting this set of beautiful Meyer pot in red!
but i enjoy it..coz i know once i start work i cannot have this kind of life anymore
so i treasure this moment as a housewife!

everything here is like half price (don't convert lar)! only when we try to live in other country we find out how cost of living in kl is so expensive! you're earning the same amount of money but the stuff are double the price..that's why many said is really hard to save money in kl as a normal white collar..

we not sure how long we will stay in sg again leave it to God
stay away from home mean lot to learn and find out how blessed we are.. no need to think what to eat what to cook, got maid to clean my room and toilet and when sick parent will cook whatever good for us and take care of us..
guess is really time for us to grow up as a family no longer under parent shelter..
no matter how as long as i have this guy with me i'll be alright!

My first bakery experience

I could not imagine baking can be that fun!
i enjoy watching AFC & Master chef so much especially they making gorgeous dessert!
till last week i decided to give it a try~
so i go through plenty of recipe online via blog and youtube
then i found this gorgeous strawberry shortcake recipe at thelittleteochew originally from ochikeron
so you check out the excat recipe and also a video tutorial!
but i still can failed twice!!
first try put flour at wrong stage then second try flour problem also!
Cake
- 2 egg
- 60g caster sugar
- 60g cake flour
- 20g unsalted butter (melted and cooled)

Syrup
- 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 20ml very hot water
- 1 tsp rum (i love the rum sense!)

Cream (super delicious!)
- 300ml dairy whipping cream
- 1 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp rum

Decoration
1 punnet fresh strawberries (250g)
- for the sandwich layer, slice off the tops and cut into halves
- for decorations on top, all up to you!

1. Preheat the oven to 170°C. Beat eggs and sugar over a bain-marie (hot water bath) until the mixture warms up. This is to dissolve the sugar. The mixture should be pleasant to the touch - you can dip your finger in without getting scalded. Remove the mixture from the bain-marie and continue beating the egg mixture till it triples in volume and turns very pale (almost white). It took my electric handheld (single) whisk almost 30 minutes.

2. Towards the last 2 to 3 minutes, beat on the lowest speed to stabilise the mixture and eliminate large bubbles. When the egg mixture has reached the "ribbon stage", sift in the flour a little at a time. Cut through the mixture with a wire whisk after each addition.

3. Sprinkle the cooled melted butter over the batter and fold in using a spatula.

4. Pour the batter from a height of 30cm into a lined tin. Towards the end, pour the remaining batter to one side of the tin.

5. Lift the tin and drop it gently onto the table top twice to eliminate air bubbles.

6. Bake the cake for 25 minutes. While it bakes, make the simple syrup solution. Dissolve 1/2 tbsp sugar in 20ml of very hot water. Then add rum. Stir to mix well and set aside.

7. Now, make the cream. Whip the cream, sugar and rum (preferably in a metal bowl) sitting over an ice bath. Whip till soft peaks form. Keep it chilled in the fridge, covered, at all times.

8. When the cake is done, turn it onto a cooling rack and allow it to cool with the pan covering it. Proceed to slice the cake in half, horizontally.

9. Now, brush sugar syrup onto the first layer of the cake (sliced side). This keeps the sponge cake nice and moist.

10. Spread a layer of cream and then top with halved strawberries. Add another layer of cream over.

11. Brush the remaining layer of cake (sliced side) with sugar syrup, then place it on top of the strawberries and cream. Proceed to frost the entire cake.

12. Any remaining cream can be plonked onto the middle of the cake for decorative purposes. The mound of cream helps "hold" the strawberry garnishes. You can use whole strawberries or halves, or a mixture of both, for decoration.

13. Keep the cake chilled until time of serving. The colder the cake, the easier it is to cut
can't wait for my next attempt!
